IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The Orphanage will be at Burning Seed in 2015. Burning Seed is one of two Burning Man Regional events in Australia.
The Orphanage is for first timers and travelling Burners from around the world. Remember, this event is not another bush doof or party for the weekend warrior to pretend they are spiritually enlightened or a hippie! You will get both in good measure and have an amazing time providing you come open and leave the outside world at the gate.
We provide basic facilities like shade, seating, cooking facilities, dish wash up, shower (BYO water) and some other nice comforts for a small contribution towards the camp logistics, operations and infrastructure (refer Camp fees below).
You also need to separately buy your own ticket http://www.burningseed.com/tickets/
However, note that the principle of radical self-reliance still applies (refer to 10 principles below) so you must bring basic things such as water, food, tent, sleeping bag etc - read more about what you need here:

Placement confirmations from 30th June
Camp fees (per Adult):
*** Pay by 15 July: AUD $45; Pay by 15 August: AUD $55; Pay by 1 September: AUD $65. If your application for The Orphanage is successful, we will send you more details later ***
What is this for? These modest fees will cover the costs of replenishing and expanding our equipment, transport costs of getting the gear Seed, gas refills, expanding our electricity and lighting capability, helping to build our art car. Basically it helps us do what we do for you and as our gift to Seed. It is clearly our intention to provide financial transparency around where the money is spent. Also year round we aim to support the Burner community through taking The Orphanage to other camp fund raising events, Decompression events and other upcoming Burn events in Canberra and at Modifyre.
The contribution to the camp is less than it might cost you otherwise to bring many of the things we offer, it also avoid unnecessary consumption through shared resources and confirms a commitment to join us (and avoid "no shows").
We intend to offer full transparency of the budgets and financials.
