What is a theme camp?
If you are not familiar with what a theme camp is, then check out this guide at Burning Seed:

What is the The Orphanage and 'Sacred Seed'?
We love unicorns and humans!  We are an experienced theme camp (since 2014) that practices the art of 'Lovemosis' by blending together "Burgins" (first-timers to a Burning Man event) with committed local and overseas "Burners" (participants at Burning Man in Nevada and/or other regional events around the world).  The Unicorn Orphanage embraces the 10 Principles of Burning Man including radical self-expression, gifting, community, participation, leave no trace and our very own 11th Principle - Lovemosis.  We also host the Sacred Seed art installation, workshop and performance space.  Sacred Seed is a space deep in the forest for people to go within and connect deeper with themselves and the land.

What is Lovemosis?
The Art of Lovemosis is all about filling people up with love so that they can then pass the love on to others.  We are open-hearted and accepting of all, and aim to help people in their journeys when they need it.  We provide a chill space for people to hang out and be sociable in.

What does in mean to be an "Orphan"?
As "Orphans" (it's what we call people past and present who have camped with The Orphanage) we pride ourselves in the practical skills we know and teach-on to others.  Sparkle Ponies will be transformed into hard-working Unicorns!  We also hold close to sustainable principles of recycling and reusing as many resources as possible, resulting in the ragtag, thrift store, hand-me-down decorated Orphanage and surrounds.

We all work hard to create a warm family-like environment that nurtures our Burn experiences and where the outworking of the principles are not only talked about, but also experienced.

A safe space
Our camp is a safe space.  We value diversity, consent and respect. Inappropriate behaviour towards other camp members and other participants at Burning Seed will not be tolerated.  Disregard of our values and principles may lead to you being evicted from the camp and the event.
