ABOUT THIS THEME CAMP
Sacred Seed @ The Orphanage will be at Burning Seed 2019. Burning Seed is one of three largest official Burning Man Regional events in Australia.
The Orphanage is a camp for our core crew, first timers to Burning Seed and for travelling Burners from around the world. Remember, this event is not another bush doof or party for the weekend warrior to pretend they are spiritually enlightened or a hippie! You will get both in good measure and have an amazing time providing you come open and leave the outside world at the gate.
The primary focus of the camp in 2019 is to support our Sacred Seed art installation and surrounding spaces (further information below).
As a camp, we provide basic facilities like water, shade, seating, cooking facilities, kitchen, showers and some other nice comforts for a small contribution towards the camp logistics, operations and infrastructure (refer Camp stipends below).
Whether you are joining a theme camp or not, you also need to separately purchase your own Burning Seed event ticket http://www.burningseed.com/tickets/
However, note that the principle of radical self-reliance still applies (refer to 10 principles below) so you must bring basic things such as food, tent, sleeping bag etc - read more about what you need here:
http://www.burningseed.com/what-to-bring/
If you are a first time participant at a Burning Man event, please become familiar with the Ten Principles:
http://www.burningseed.com/about/ten-principles/
If you want to help us out before, during or after the event and camp somewhere else, click here, otherwise read on if you would like to camp at The Orphanage...
THE ORPHANAGE THEME CAMP
The Orphanage camp for 2019 will continue to have a street-frontage with a chill-out area with our fantastic Queen-sized bed covered with plush unicorns and Christmas Tree. Events will focus on Christmas Carols at Breakfast, a new Family Christmas Gathering on Sunday afternoon and other eclectic events through the week.

SACRED SEED
Sacred Seed is an art installation in the forest, which has featured as part of The Orphanage at Burning Seed since 2015. Supporting this space is the main focus for our camp in 2019. This will take place in the forest behind our street fronting. If you are not familiar with Sacred Seed and how you can help, please read on.
What to expect at Sacred Seed:
How can you help:
Contributing to the Sacred Seed in one or more ways is the most important criteria for joining The Orphanage theme camp in 2019.
CAMP STIPEND/CONTRIBUTION
Camp stipends required by Friday 31st August (otherwise we will offer places to those on our wait list)#.
Contribution towards theme camp operations:
per Adult: AUD$75.00*
per Teen/Child (under 18): AUD $0.00
# Camp contribution can transferred via: Bitcoin, Ether, Paypal or traditional New Zealand or Australia bank transfer
* Core crew reductions for those involved with set-up/pack down
What is this for? These modest fees will cover the costs of replenishing and expanding our equipment, truck transport costs of getting the gear to Burning Seed, water, gas refills, expanding our electricity and lighting capability, yearly storage, year round activities, helping our events and art projects. Basically it helps us do what we do for you and as our gift to Burning Seed and other events. Also year round we aim to support the Burner community through taking The Orphanage to other community fund raising events, Decompression events and other burns locally and internationally.
The contribution to the camp is less than it might cost you otherwise to buy/bring many of the things we offer, it also avoids unnecessary consumption through shared resources and confirms a commitment to join us (and avoid "no shows").
